High quality, yet affordable cPanel Linux hosting!

cPanel User Manager Interface

The User Manager interface in your cPanel control panel lets you manage your subaccounts, which use the same login and password information for email, FTP, and Web Disk services, by synchronizing the password of each of the subaccount's allowed services. This interface also lets you merge email, FTP, and Web Disk accounts into a single subaccount or link existing service accounts to subaccounts.

Accessing the User Manager interface

Login to your cPanel control panel using your web browser. Go to 'http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel/' (without the quotation marks). So if your domain name is 'example.com' you should go to 'http://www.example.com/cpanel/' to login to your control panel. The User Manager interface is in the "Preferences" tab, simply click on the name or the icon to enter.

Linking accounts

The User Manager interface lets you merge those accounts into a subaccount, if any email, FTP, or Web Disk account use the same username.
  • The interface groups any service accounts that you could merge.
  • To merge the accounts, click "Link". If you don't want to merge the service account, click "Dismiss" and the interface will no longer present the merge option for that account.

Adding a subaccount

  • Click "Add User".
  • Enter the user's name in the "Full Name" text box.
  • Enter the username in the "Username" text box.
  • Select the appropriate domain from the "Domain" dropdown menu if you manage more than one domain.
  • Enter the contact email for the user.
  • Select the "The user will set the account password" option if you'd like to send an email to the user to set their own password, and skip the next step. To set the password yourself, select the "Set the user's password" option and proceed to the next step.
  • Enter password and password confirmation. We suggest using the Password Generator.
  • Select the subaccount's services.
  • Click "Create".

Deleting a subaccount

  • Click "Delete" and confirm.
