cPanel Cron Jobs Interface

The Cron Jobs interface in your cPanel control panel lets you automate certain commands or scripts on your website and set them to run at a specific time.

Accessing the Cron Jobs interface

Login to your cPanel control panel using your web browser. Go to 'http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel/' (without the quotation marks). So if your domain name is 'example.com' you should go to 'http://www.example.com/cpanel/' to login to your control panel. The Cron Jobs interface is in the "Advanced" tab, simply click on the name or the icon to enter.

Adding a cron email

This feature allows you to enter your email address for the server to send you notifications when the cron jobs execute.
  • Enter your email address in the "Email" text box.
  • Click "Update Email" button.

Adding a new cron job

In the "Add New Cron Job" section, you can setup a cron job to run at certain intervals. You can set the time interval in multiple ways. The "Common Settings" dropdown menu contains most commonly used time intervals and you can choose one of them. If you'd like to, you can also manually enter minute, hour, day, month and weekday in the corresponding text boxes, or select a common setting for each one of them from the dropdown menu next to the corresponding text box.

In the "Command" text box, you should enter the command that you'd like the server to run.

Viewing existing cron jobs

Existing cron jobs are listed under the "Current Cron Jobs" table.

Editing a cron job

  • Find the cron job you'd like to edit and click "Edit".
  • Edit the settings you'd like to change and click "Edit Line".

Deleting a cron job

  • Find the cron job you'd like to delete and click "Delete".
  • Confirm by clicking "Delete".
