cPanel Address Importer Interface

The Address Importer interface in your cPanel control panel lets you use Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet files (.xls) or comma-separated values sheet (CSV) files (.csv) to import multiple email addresses or forwarders for your account simultaneously.

Accessing the Address Importer interface

Login to your cPanel control panel using your web browser. Go to 'http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel/' (without the quotation marks). So if your domain name is 'example.com' you should go to 'http://www.example.com/cpanel/' to login to your control panel. The Address Importer interface is in the "Email" tab, simply click on the name or the icon to enter.

Creating the import file

  • To create the import file, generate a spreadsheet or plain text file (.csv) and add a series of email addresses and passwords to it.
  • If you use a plain text file (.csv), we recommend seperating your emails and passwords with a comma (,).
  • Use a separate row in the spreadsheet or a new line in the plain text file to separate the information for each account or forwarder.

Importing the file

  • Under "Step 1: Select what you would like to import.", select "E-mail Accounts" or "Forwarders".
  • Under "Step 2: Locate CSV or XLS file on your computer.", click "Choose File" and select the file to import from your computer.
  • Select the character that you used as the delimiter. If you used a delimiter that is not in the list, select "Other" and enter the character in the "Other" text box.
  • Select "Treat first row as column headers" if you placed column headers in the first row of the import file you've created.
  • Click "Next".
  • Use the menus above each column of values for assigning the properties of each value.
  • From the "Domain" menu, select the domain name to use for these accounts.
  • Click "Next".
  • Click "Finish".
